Have you ever wondered how to make a 3-D sculpted cake? Well, I tried to take progressive photos for you to see step-by-step of just how to do it! Give it a try! :)

Ok, let's get started!!...

1. (I baked chocolate chocolate chip cakes and stacked them with layers of cream cheese filling)
Step 1: Carve the cake with several sizes of sharp knives. I had pictures of a Camaro to refer to....

Step 2: Cover the cake in a chocolate ganache or buttercream frosting to create a smooth surface and bring out the shape of the car.

Here it is after cleaning up the ganache, it has really taken its shape as a car now....

Step 3: Cover with fondant. (I make my own marshmallow fondant which most people love the taste of. But you can also purchase fondant)

Cut off excess fondant and smooth to shape

Step 4: Cut out the window shapes

Step 5: Paint on black stripes or whatever design you want on the car

Step 6: Add brake lights, chrome tail-pipes and license plate...

Step 7: Accessorize and finishing touches... I added in the windows, side door mirrors (which are made from a harder drying fondant called gumpaste), headlights, fog lights, Chevy symbols, gas cap, chrome rims and door handles

Building "The Cube" ....
Step 1: Carve out a box shape with your cake. Ganache or frost to smooth. Cover in fondant. Carve out the intricate symbols and lines of the cube.
